About Us

Purpose of The Global Liver Council™ (GLC):


Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) or Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASH) is increasingly recognized is one of the most common causes of liver disease worldwide. In order to understand the global impact of this disease, The Global Liver Council was created to include renowned experts from different regions of the world with interest in NASH/MASH to collaborate and exchange their views about this liver disease. Global Liver Council include 66 countries from all the continents across the globe with 338 members. Members of the Council carry out collaborative projects to better understand the burden of NASH/MASH across the globe.

The mission of the Global Liver Council™ is to advance global understanding of chronic liver diseases through international collaboration, real-world data generation, and research informed by regional perspectives, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes worldwide. The vision of the Council is a world in which chronic liver diseases are better understood, more effectively managed, and addressed equitably across all regions and populations. The work of the Global Liver Council™ is guided by a commitment to scientific excellence, global inclusivity, patient-centered research, transparency, ethical conduct, and the responsible use of high-quality real-world evidence.
